After moving to Des Moines, Iowa to be an assistant coach for the Drake University football team Coach D Rob started the 3D Baseball program and began providing baseball instruction for many of the athletes in central Iowa. Which is where the idea for 3D Gold was birthed, Robinson and another program director named Eric Munson recognized the need for a select group of kids to be challenged beyond the leagues and teams they were playing on and against. So they began putting groups together to compete in regional tournaments and with great success came growth. Aside from baseball, Coach D Rob coached 3 Defensive Backs who were selected as All Conference Performers (Drew Ormseth, John Bloss and Brad Duwe) and was also the performance trainer of the 2014-2015 5A Iowa Girls Basketball State Champions in which many athletes are currently or will eventually obtain college scholarships to continue their careers.
